Even if I prefer road running, I do like trail running from time to time. Especially when running in such a beautiful area like Cape Town and on such a lovely summer day.
In contrast to my "standard" training sessions on the road, the "enjoyment"-factor comes to the fore while trail running together with my wife. And I'm not forced to run a specific pace or distance by training plan (defined by myself).
Trail running is also good to improve your focus and strengthens the ligaments & joints - which improves road running as well.
Especially after a tough week on the road a trail run for 1 - 1.5 h is a perfect Sunday activity - and who can disagree in such an environment ;)
