Often people ask me about my resting heart rate, and they look quite surprised when I tell them "I don't know".
I know my maximum heart rate quite well, but the resting one?
To be able to answer the question in the future, I did a test this morning: Sitting in a chair for a few minutes and reading the newspaper, using my Polar heart rate monitor, looking at the display every now and then.
The result: 52
Is was surprised by myself! A few years ago it's been more than 60... this might be another reason why I'm able to run with a lower heart rate in the meantime...
