Running in the heat with a lot of sun means a lot to your cardiovascular system and for your skin.
I try to avoid running in the sun and heat during my training runs, but on the other hand I believe that you should also train what you might experience during a race.
Even if Two Oceans and Comrades start around 6am, if you're on the road for 5 or 9 hours, you definitely will be running in the sun. If you haven't trained it, you're making your life much harder on race day.
Sunscrean with LPF 50 is good, but due to the sweat, the intensity of the sun is even higher than normal and the cream will slowly be removed.
One day I discovered SKINS shirts, which is a compression garment but also a shirt with LPF 50. I'm not into compression garment at all, but the LPF was tempting, and SKINS ICE has another interesting technology build in...

PS: Of course you have to drink a lot during a long run in the sun, but I'm sure you're aware of that...
